My dear community,

It has been a joy to see each of you respond in love and faith to the challenging times that are upon us. I have been moved by the way you continue to reach out and pray for those around you and in our community.

While we do not gather in our buildings, the life of our faith continues as we 'practice the presence of God through faith and action in our lives, the life of our families and the life of this world.

We may not be able to leave our houses but we know that our home is found in God, our strength and our true nourishment, the One who never leaves us.

Our psalm this week is Psalm 23 which reads:

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want;
God makes me lie down in green pastures,
and leads me beside still waters;
God restores my soul.
God leads me in paths of righteousness
for God's name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil;
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil,
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life;
and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.

Along with our own personal times of prayer, we will have a variety of opportunities to share in common prayer with our congregation and the wider church. These links can be found here:  https://www.stmatthiasvictoria.ca/news/resources-in-a-time-of-social-isolation

You are held in the circle of my prayers and in my heart, I will be in touch over these days and don't hesitate to contact me if you need anything at all!

May you be held and guided through this wilderness by the Good Shepherd and may Gods love and mercy uphold you through the power of the Holy Spirit.
