Today, BC Public health officials announced variances for faith groups regarding in-person worship. This is the news we have been waiting for and gives us what we need to make our own reopening plans. As mentioned in her letter to the diocese dated May 26, the bishop, archdeacons and other synod staff will meet on Wednesday, June 2 to review the variances and guidelines, and to consider our next steps.

Please note that as part of our reopening plans parishes/worshipping communities will be required to submit a comprehensive COVID safety plan (as was the case last year).

This is good news, and there is indeed light at the end of the tunnel! More information will be made available as soon as possible.
