We are in the Season of Creation from September 1 through October 4. This is a special time to renew our relationship with the Creator and all Creation. Interested in learning more? Follow this link: https://seasonofcreation.org/ This year, the theme is "Let justice and peace flow."
This Sunday we mark the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation. We wear Orange Shirts to remember the victims and survivors of the residential school system. We seek to right the colonial wrongs of the past, to repent for the harms committed against Creation, and to come into right relationship with Indigenous peoples.
This Sunday we will be blessing the animals after the service (by the Labyrinth, weather depending). Please bring your beloved pet or a picture of a beloved pet to receive a blessing for the ways that our fellow creatures enhance our lives and our world.
The Season of Creation is an ecumenical observance -- meaning that it's shared throughout an incredible range of Christian denominations. (Just in case you wondered: all are welcome, no experience or "membership" required!) We'll mark it with special prayers and music to link us to these reflections. On October 4, we'll remember St. Francis of Assisi -- we mark this Feast on October 1st with our Blessing of the Animals.
