A letter from our PastorJoan Wilson read Colleen's letter to us at church today; we're sending it out electronically for those not able to be with us in person. Saturday July 8th, 2023 Beloved people of God , I am so sorry that I am not there to celebrate with you today. I was looking forward to returning to Canada on July 4th but unfortunately, I have been delayed on account of the fact that my permanent record card has expired, a fact I was not aware of. In fact, I didn’t know that permanent record cards had an expiry date and when it was pointed out to me, I could hardly see it because the print was so small. So here I am, stranded in one of my favourite cities, waiting for a special stamp in my passport so I can go home. I would much rather be with all of you this morning. I have kept you in my prayers during this time away, both individually and as a parish. I have prayed for you in some very special churches, including Kings College, Cambridge, and St. Paul’s, the Actors Church, in Covent Garden. I want to express my profound gratitude to Rev. Karen for being willing to replace me for an additional Sunday and for all the extra things she has attended to in my absence. I also want to express my appreciation to Cory and Joan, our first-class wardens, and to all of you for being the wonderful community of faith that just “gets on with it”. Pray for me, that bureaucracy will shift and I will be back with you, my dear parish, very soon. With much love and blessings, Rev. Colleen |
