Rev's Matt and Meagan last Sunday June 5A letter from the Bishop It is with sadness and hope that we bid farewell to Rev. Meagan and Rev. Matt and wish them well on their next endeavours. We wait with and anticipation for the announcement of our new priest. Please find below the Bishops letter. April 24, 2022 Dear friends, I write to share with you that the Rev Meagan Crosby-Shearer and the Rev Matthew Humphrey have resigned from their shared leadership roles at St Matthias so that they may take on work with a local sustainable business. Their last day as your clerical leaders will be June 10, 2022. They will both continue as bi-vocational priests of the diocese. Neither Matt nor Meagan have come to this decision lightly, and in their letters to me, they both described their awareness that the parish has suffered a great degree of instability over the years, and they described regret in adding to this burden of uncertainty. However, they also spoke of your courage and resiliency, your tenacity and your faith. Meagan and Matt are grateful to have served the parish of St Matthias, and for all you accomplished together; they made this decision knowing that the parish currently has the strength and motivation to continue its important ministerial presence in the Victoria area. The synod office staff are here to support you during this time of transition. I will meet with the wardens soon to begin conversations around transition. Peace, The Right Rev Anna Greenwood-Lee For more infomation visit: http://stmatthiasvictoria.ca/news/revs-matt-and-meagan-last-sunday-june-5
