Thursday Morning EucharistCeltic Liturgy with Rev. Colleen, Coffee, and Conversation - Thursday, February 8, 2024 Join us weekly on Thursday mornings for a small and prayerful sharing of communion in the Chapel. All are welcome. Thursday morning worship begins at 10am with refreshments to follow at 11am. We use a Celtic liturgy from the wonderful book 'Celtic Daily Prayer Book Two, Farther Up and Farther In.' This is not a ‘Celtic’ service in the sense that it recreates a Communion Service from the Celtic monastic era, but it is a service shaped by a Celtic theology. The potential strength of this service is its simplicity. It aims to get to the ‘essence’ of this meal that all Christians share. In it, also, are echoes of the meal at Emmaus, the Passover Seder meal and the sharing of bread and wine that is part of the ritual binding between brothers, like David and Jonathan. All are welcome. Thursday communion continues on a weekly basis so we invite you to come everyweek or whenever you can. Photo by Svetlana Sinitsyna on Unsplash

“Where did all the young people go?”Lent 2024 - Wednesday, February 28, 2024 For decades we’ve been wondering and worrying about our young people leaving our beloved church. For 4 Wednesday mornings this Lent, join Bp Anna and Rev Christine to explore the social, spiritual, religious and theological movements of the late 20th century. What happened in the wake of the great optimism of the 1960’s? Why haven’t any of the many approaches we’ve tried to engage young people over the decades worked in the long term? And finally, what are some of the emerging ideas and practices of 21st century Christianity and beyond? Where might we go from here? Dates: Wed. Feb 28, March 6, 13, 20 Time: 9:45am - Coffee and light snacks; 10:00-11:30am program Where: St George's Cadboro Bay Zoom option available.
